Mimi and Jose, San Francisco City Hall

Mimi and Jose had a short, but an amazingly fun wedding at City Hall in San Francisco the other week. I did not have to prompt Jose to jump as he left City Hall, he was that happy.

The couple had a larger ceremony in Spain earlier this year (oh, how I wish I had been able to photograph that one, I have never been to Spain, but am happy to have had the opportunity to be with them at the ‘official’ ceremony in San Francisco.)

The ceremony was held at the Cupola (I had to look it up, I always just called that area the top of the stairs), and since it was close to Christmas, there was a beautiful Christmas Tree behind them. Made for a stunning background.

The lights on the tree behind them caused one of my favorite names for anything — Circles of Confusion

Mimi was happy to hear we were able to take photos anywhere inside City Hall, as long as we did not get in anyone’s way, and did not enter any of the offices. It is such a great location to make photos.

Mimi, Jose and their friends were such a great group.

It is impossible for me to yell directions when I am so far away from a couple in cases like this. I just told them to go to the stairs, walk down slowly and do whatever came naturally. A great idea on Jose’s part.

People were setting up chairs for a children’s Christmas concert, so Mimi and Jose had an audience as they made their way down the stairs. It was very sweet.

And off goes the happy couple. Congratulations to Mimi and Jose, and Happy Holidays to everyone. I hope 2013 is full of joy and laughter for all.
